Howdy Dave - I've read your posts over on Jouster and gunboards for a long time. I'm glad to see you've created a new Krag forum. The Krag is my favorite discussion topic and I find the forums the best way to learn. I recently published an e-book on Amazon regarding development of the US Krag. Constructive criticism is always welcome as I eventually intend to incorporate all updates and publish the book in hardcopy.
Thanks again for starting a forum dedicated to our favorite rifle:)
I am an engineer and live west of Fort Worth, Tx. I've been shooting and handloading most of my life. I have a few milsurps in my gun collection including a cut down Krag, an 03A3,a 1917 and a M38 MN carbine. I also enjoy fixing and refinishing old guns (nothing collectible - I'm talking old 22s or shotguns with little value).

Having an engineer hereabouts will definitely add to the conversation. Welcome!

Hello, Dave.
Thank you for the welcome.
The first milsurp in my collection was an 1898 Springfield. It has lots of company now but it's still the one my friends all want to see at the range. Everyone that holds it has some comment regarding "history". There's just something about that old Krag.
I'm a soon to be retired cabinetmaker and am looking forward to having more time... especially time for firearms related activities.
