I have been doing this for a while (participating in discussion forums) and have seen all sorts of rules. Certainly the standard ones need to apply, no personal attacks, etc., but there are some rules some forums have that seem to be unhelpful. A few possible topics of discussion:
-Live auctions. I could go either way on this issue.
-Other forums.
-Sporterizing. We have Sporter Forums here, but modifying of existing Krags should be approached thoughtfully.
But this is your forum, so this thread. Floor's open. Discuss.

Rough Draft of the Forum Rules:
1) Be nice. If you disagree, agreeably disagree. I have a fairly low tolerance for flaming, trolling, inciting arguments and negativity in general.
2) Auctions. You can post links to open auctions, but the context is key. If the link is to ask about a feature of a rifle in a pending auction, it is certainly allowed. But a link to an auction for a gun located where you live will be more than modestly suspect.
3) Threadjacking. Conversations being conversations, threads will drift. But intentionally changing a thread's topic is not allowed.
4) This is a family-friendly forum, so when you post a good rule of thumb might be would you let a minor child read what you posted. The word filter will eventually be operative.
5) The Trader. No chit-chat, and Original Posters can only BTT under the following conditions: First, the post must be off the front page, and "BTT" posts can only be once in a seven day period. The Trader is NOT an auction. Please post prices when listing items for sale. All local, State, and Federal laws will be followed.
6) Legal. If you wish to discuss civil disobedience of gun laws, the place for that type of discussion is the Political forum, and we may subdivide the Political forum into a Second Amendment forum if traffic justifies.

Another thought: Restoration. Krags have not been in the primary market (Century/AIM/TN Guns/whoever) in decades, so restoration of antique Krags may not be as touchy a subject as it is in more modern circles. About the only thing I would think would be out of order would be a carbine "build" on a US Krag receiver using a receiver not definitely in a Carbine serial number range.

With no objection, the Rules are adopted. I will re-write them into a Sticky for each Forum.
